I didn't choose a travel agent life: it chose me. When I retired (34 years of policing), I quickly realized that not having things to do all day was something I didn't care for.My wife was (and still is) a busy travel agent, and it made sense to join her in helping others book their vacations. After all, she had given me the travel bug, and I can happily report that I'm still 'suffering' from it, with no 'remission' in sight!
In the past few years, I've had the privilege of visiting and exploring 4 continents, some extensively! North and South America (we went to the end of the world!), Europe and Africa, with trips already booked that will take us to Asia in 2024 and another part of Africa in 2025.
My favourite trips to book are extensive itineraries that combine rail, land and/or sea packages.Europe's extensive rail system makes travel by train both efficient and memorable. My favourite trips to travel are on river cruises!I'm not a foodie by any means, by I do know that the food on every river cruise I've sailed has been the best I've ever tasted - by far. Exploring the cities that we get to visit by river is so much different than visiting a Caribbean island or Mediterranean port.As the saying goes, "ocean cruises will take you TO cities; river cruises will take you THROUGH them."
